JUNE 19, 2009 – JUNE 19, 2010  Benedict XVI has proclaimed a year for Priests beginning June 19th on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. The year is to encourage priests to grow towards spiritual perfection, on which depends the effectiveness of their ministry, & to encourage all faithful to recognize the importance of the priest’s role & mission in the church & contemporary society.

Lord Jesus Christ, make your priests holy. Help them grow in fidelity to you and in self-giving service to your Church. Make them gifts of God to the world. Amen
